Best beaches for a staycation

Any of our medical conditions travel insurance customers planning a bucket and spade holiday in the UK this summer will be interested in the latest Good Beach Guide compiled by the Marine Conservation Society (MCS). The survey showed that some of our beaches are the cleanest for years, despite the guide stressing that there is still a lot of work to be done on maintaining and improving them.
Everyone loves a day at the beach, but recently stay-cations (holidays from your home country) to British seaside towns have taken a tumble due to the horrendous amount of rubbish or washed-up debris found on many seaside havens.

Below are the top 4 beaches in Britain:

1. Langland Bay, Wales
A popular coastal holiday resort, Langland Bay has facilities for British holidaymakers from across the country, including surfing, canoe faciltiies and a watersports zone. With the beach just how it should be, Langland Bay should provide visitors with a perfect day at the beach

2.Blackpool Sands, Devon
The ‘other’ Blackpool in Lancashire sits in a secluded bay surrounded by evergreen trees. It caters for families with attractions such as a sandpit, a bathing raft a huge variety of delicious food and a shop – all which contributed to it winning multiple awards.

3. Rhossili Bay, Gower Peninsula
Regularly voted the best beach in the UK and often within the top ten in the world, Rhossili Bay offers its visitors an incredible view of West Wales, from Lundy Island to the North Devon coast, and with the opportunity to watch grey seals bathing on the rocks, there’s almost no competition.

4.Frinton-On-Sea, Essex
Despite the popularity and cheesiness of it’s famous neighbour of Clacton, Frinton has a unique and antique charm. The beach is sandy, secluded and perfect for building sandcastles on. Victorian-style beach huts line the top of the beach, making any trip there an authentic beach experience.

The fact these beaches are increasing in popularity is promising and will hopefully encourage more people to holiday in the UK, now all we need to do is work out how to stop all this torrential rain so we can enjoy them!
