At Insurancewith, we’re strong believers that your medical history should not define you or determine whether or not you can travel. Sadly, if you have a heart condition you may find that many insurers either refuse to cover you or charge an excessive premium (which can be costlier than the holiday itself!). Whether you’ve had a pacemaker fitted, previously suffered a heart attack or have congenital heart disease, we can provide a travel insurance quotation.
Unlike other travel insurance providers, we appreciate that regardless of your heart condition, you deserve a holiday.
Our unique approach to medical screening, alongside input from clinical specialists and charities, ensures the cover we offer has your best interests at heart. The questions you’re asked allow us to gain a thorough understanding of your medical condition(s) and personal experience. This means we’re able to provide affordable policies, in some cases up to 98% cheaper than other travel insurers (depending on factors including destination, duration and the type of holiday).
Throughout the screening process, it is essential that you declare your heart condition and any other medical information to us. This ensures that your policy is tailored to you and that you will be covered should a medical emergency occur during your trip. At Insurancewith our cover offers:
No matter what medical condition(s) you have, as long as it’s stable and well controlled, we’ll offer you a quotation. With over 26 years’ experience in providing affordable travel insurance prices tailor-made for heart conditions, you can relax knowing you’ll have the cover you need without breaking the bank.
Buying one of our policies is simple, they are available to purchase online or through our Customer Service team – simply start the quote process by clicking on the Get A Quote button. All our policies come with a 14-day cooling off period- so if you change your mind, providing you haven’t travelled or claimed, we’ll offer you a full refund- no questions asked.
When you experience a heart attack it can often lead you to question whether life will ever be the same again. For many, they resume their normal lives, including going on holiday, which is often an integral part of their year. We fully support this and want to make the travel insurance part as stress free and affordable as possible. If you are planning on travelling, here are a few things to bear in mind:
Seek doctors’ advice:
If you have any concerns, we recommend you speaking to a doctor prior to going abroad. Understandably the first time travelling after a heart attack can be nerve wracking, so speak to a professional who can answer any concerns you may have. This will put your mind at ease and hopefully you can then start getting excited about your holiday.
Research the medical facilities:
The standard of medical care varies worldwide so it is important you research prior to going on holiday. We generally advise you visit a public hospital if you require medical care abroad, as they are government regulated meaning the standard of medical care is monitored, and they are available to give input on any emergency around the clock every day of the year.
Medication
Prior to booking a holiday its important you check whether the medication you are taking is legal in the country you are visiting. Bring an original prescription with you and ensure it is easily accessible in your hand luggage. We recommend you take any medication in your hand luggage, in case your suitcase is delayed or gets lost. The medication should be in its original packaging (not in dispensary containers) so it is clear exactly what you are taking (and it can be matched to your prescription).
